TESTING THE NEW TRAINING FACILITY FOR LIVE BURN |
| On November 24th PSFD personnel took part in the trial burn of our new live burn facility. This first live fire was to monitor the way the fire behaved as well as how the building reacted to the heat and smoke. The building design worked even better than we had hoped for. The Chief and safety officer both attended as well as several on-duty and off duty personnel. We still have things to build into this training aid that will give us much needed training on not only fire behavior and heat exposure but it can also be used for search and rescue drills as well.

|
This facility is currently being constructed by our fire department. It is made from 2 each 8 X 80 storage compartments and 1mounted on top of a 8 x 20. It is being designed with movable walls to create different floor plans and fire locations. This facility will be used for Live fire burn drills, search and rescue excercises, sprinkler and roof prop for ventilation and other practice drills. If all goes to plan this will be completed and ready for use by the end of this summer. Below are picture from construction.
